Douglas Burnet Smith is the author of fifteen books of poetry. His most recent book is entitled Learning to Count (Frontenac House). He has been nominated for the Governor General's Award, and has won numerous prizes for his writing, including The Long Poem Prize from The Malahat Review. Professor Smith has served as President of the League of Canadian Poets and as Chair of the Public Lending Right Commission of Canada. His work has been translated into several languages.
