How Meal Plans Work

Swipe System - Morrison Hall and Bloomfield Café

StFX's main dining facility in Morrison Hall operates on an "all you care to eat" basis. Students present their StFX ID card for entry to the dining hall, and each visit is considered one meal or "swipe" from their meal plan. A block plan of 315 meals (for instance) equates to 315 visits or swipes to Morrison Hall over the course of the academic year. All foods must be consumed within the dining facility and not taken to-go. All unused meals expire at the end of the academic year.

Bloomfield Café also offers a meal swipe program from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday to Friday, featuring various lunch packages.

Grab-and-Go Options

Students may also use a meal swipe to get an appetizer, entrée, snack and beverage to-go. Grab-and-go options are available in Morrison Hall.

Declining Credit Balance (DCB)

DCB credits are money deposited into you taxable DCB or Dex-X account that allows you to purchase items at various cafes throughout campus, at the StFX Store, and at printing stations. It works like a debit system. Set up your Deb-X account  to track your usage and add money.

StFX Student ID Cards

Students must present their StFX ID cards for all transactions, including meal plan swipes and DCB purchases. Students cannot lend or borrow cards and meals are non-transferable.

Lost meal cards should be reported immediately to the University Housing Office. Please go to Security to have a replacement student ID/meal card printed. The cost is $20.

Options for Off-Campus students

Off-Campus students may also purchase a meal plan. These meal plans work the same as for on-campus students, including swipe access to Morrison Hall and Bloomfield Café (hours permitting) and DCB dollars for use across campus.
