The StFX Fitness Centre offers drop-in group fitness classes such as HIIT circuits, spin classes, yoga, and more. Drop-in group fitness classes are included in your Fitness Centre membership.

Join us for a class focused on full body strength training. Perfect for all skill levels, whether you're brand new or a seasoned pro, this class is perfect for you! This class offers a range of exercises designed to build muscle, enhance endurance, and help you achieve your fitness goals!

Lunch Time KB HIIT

Take a mid-day break with this 45-minute full body kettlebell workout focused on boosting energy, increasing metabolism, and reducing that afternoon fatigue.

Power Rowing

This class is a high-energy cardio and strength class designed to build both endurance and full-body power. Using indoor rowers in a variety of unique and training formats, you'll push your limits with intervals, resistance drills, and strength circuits that go beyond traditional training. Whether you're looking to improve your stamina, tone muscle, or just get a killer sweat, Power Rowing delivers a total-body workout like no other.

Learn to Kettle Bell

Learn-to, or master, the art of kettlebell training in this one-hour small-group training class. Each week, we start by learning & practicing a kettlebell movement, followed by a full-body functional fitness workout. Fall in love with kettlebell training!

Monday | 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Power Cardio

Join us for a class focused on power, strength, and endurance. A high-intensity fitness class that combines explosive strength and fast-paced cardio. Push your limits with power-driven exercises like weighted sled pushes and elevate your heart rate with dynamic cardio moves like jump rope. This class is designed to build endurance, speed, and full-body power - perfect for anyone looking to sweat hard and get strong.

Pump Up 

This Cardio and Strength class is an exciting mix of strength, balance, and core exercises, with a fun cardio twist. The variety of exercises will leave you feeling all around powerful. All skill levels are welcome, get ready to sweat and have some fun!

Mobility & Wellness
Dynamic Yoga

Discover a new side of yoga each week with our lively Thursday sessions. From energizing dynamic flows such as power yoga and HIIT to unique yoga concepts like face yoga, chakras and balancing sequences, these classes are designed to surprise and inspire. Open to all levels with modifications provided.

Yin Yoga

Yin is the quieter side of yoga and is for all levels. Poses are held for several minutes and are done either seated or laying down. Yin allows the body to sense and release. Let go of everything; all the tension, all the tightness, and melt into a long-held yin pose. Your body, mind and heart will thank you.

Intermediate/Advanced Yoga

Challenge your practice with our themed intermediate-to-advanced yoga classes, each week focus on a specific discipline such as Pilates, deep backbends & forward folds, or mindful breathwork. Designed for those who want to stretch a little more and explore advanced yoga practices, these sessions blend precision, strength, and mindful awareness. Each week offers a fresh focus, giving you time to truly embody and master each concept.

Beginner Yoga

Beginner Yoga class is the perfect way to start your yoga journey in a supportive and approachable environment. Designed for those who are new to yoga or looking to build a solid foundation, this class focuses on basic postures, breathing techniques, and gentle stretching to improve flexibility, balance, and relaxation.

Hatha Yoga

Whether you're new to yoga or have an established practice, this hatha yoga class is for you. Hatha focuses on breathing, controlled movements and mediation. The gentle pace allows for moments of exploring what needs attention inside your body, mind and heart.

Spin
Morning/Evening Spin

Join us Monday, Wednesday morning and evening, Thursday evening, and Friday morning for a fun and engaging Ride Along spin workout, perfect for beginner-advanced spinners looking for a mix of moderate and intense intervals. This class promises an enjoyable and supportive environment to boost your fitness. Get ready to ride to an upbeat playlist and have a blast!

Saturday Spin

Nothing beats starting your Saturday with a fun and exciting workout! This is class is for anyone looking to get active early in the day and still enjoy the fun activities through the weekend!

  • Book from your phone - Download the MemberMe+ app, search Amelia Saputo Centre and login to your self-service account.
  • Book at the front desk. Visit one of the staff members located at the Fitness Centre or Amelia Saputo Centre to register in-person.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cannot attend a pre-booked class, please ensure you cancel your booking to allow others to enjoy the class!

  • Cancel your booking up to 2 hours in advance using the Self-Service Portal
  • Cancel your booking with a Guest Services staff member in-person, or via email at fitness@stfx.ca (a confirmation email will be sent back)
  • A total of 2 NO-SHOWS will result in a 1-week suspension from group fitness registrations
  • A total of 3 NO-SHOWS will result in a 2-week suspension from group fitness registrations 

PLEASE NOTE

  • Before attending a class, please read through the "Get active questionnaire" to see if you should consult a doctor before participating.
  • No admittance to group fitness classes once class begins
  • No outdoor footwear permitted in the studio
  • Pre-registration required (SELF-SERVICE PORTAL - ONLINE BOOKING)
  • Current capacity for fitness classes = 15-20
  • Group fitness classes will not run on Stat/Civic holidays

HOW TO REGISTER

  1. Complete the Intake Form and contact us
    Please email fitness@stfx.ca to request an intake form. After you've completed this and sent it back, we will assign you a personal trainer who will contact you for your initial consultation.
  2. Consultation with a Trainer
    This phase is where your program will be specifically built for you through physical assessment and information gathering. Your trainer will ask in-depth questions about your fitness goals, exercise background, and take physical measurements through various movement patterns as well as using the In-Body Machine.
  3. Choose your Package
    At the end of your consultation, you can discuss your package options with your trainer. Based on the information your trainer gathers, a program will be to best suit your desired goals.

Fee-Based Programs

Join one of our many amazing instructors as they teach you new skills in our kettlebell program, or learn the foundations of compound exercises: deadlift, bench press, and squat. Sign-up today for one of our 4-6 week fitness programs. Receive a 20% discount on programs included in your deluxe and Fitness Centre membership.

Program details
ChairFIT yoga

A gentle form of yoga & fitness practiced while sitting or standing using the chair for support as well as using other props. This style works best for people who have various physical limitations or those who find other types of yoga too challenging. All levels are welcome. Participant will enjoy the benefits of stretching, muscle toning, breathing exercises and best of all "laughter" which the best medicine of all time.
