I was employed at St. Francis Xavier University from 1989 to 2020. My ongoing research is in the fields of urban sociology and maritime sociology. In particular, my research deals with: 1) the process of urban renewal and social change in mid-twentieth century St. John’s, and 2) an evaluation of the issues of rights, rewards and risks as these pertain to the global salmon aquaculture industry.
