Brent Bannerman joined the StFX Music Department in 2016-2017 as an instructor in music theory and music history.

He graduated from St. Francis Xavier with a BA Music (Honours, First Class), and taught secondary music and was director of bands for a 36-year career at Dr. JH Gillis Regional High School. During this time, the band program travelled extensively and competed with distinction in many national and international festivals and competitions.

In addition to instrumental music, he leads a successful piano studio and has had extensive involvement in music theatre and liturgical music.
