Adrianna Hillman
Adrianna is a dedicated Nurse Educator at St. Francis Xavier University, where she has been teaching since 2022. She graduated from StFX in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently completing her Master of Adult Education, with an expected completion date of May 2025. Throughout her graduate studies, she has focused on building resilience in nursing students, aiming to mitigate burnout and foster a sustainable, long-term passion for nursing.
After earning her BScN, Adrianna stayed in Antigonish, where she gained a well-rounded clinical background in medical-surgical, community, and emergency nursing. This diverse experience allows her to integrate real-world insights into her work with students. As a Nurse Educator, she teaches in various settings, including medical-surgical clinical placements, skills labs, and overseeing fourth-year placements.
In addition to her teaching role, Adrianna serves as the staff advisor for the Nursing Society, working closely with students to organize events that build community and support throughout their nursing education. She is passionate about creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
Through her studies and clinical experience, Adrianna is committed to equipping nursing students with the resilience and skills they need to thrive in the demanding healthcare field, ultimately shaping a strong, well-supported nursing workforce.

- Exploring strategies to build resilience throughout nursing education and mitigate burnout while preparing students for the healthcare system's challenges. My focus is on promoting self-care practices, aiming to educate nurses who can sustain their passion for the profession long-term in hopes of leading to better retention rates in nursing.
