Biography

Jennifer Leonard is the Program Assistant of the Applied Forensic Psychology (AFP) program at St. Francis Xavier University. Jen is an alumni of the 2-year Special Concentration in Forensic Psychology program and a recipient of the Forensic Psychology Prize in 2019. Prior to returning to StFX, Jen spent 4 years as a Crisis Support Counsellor at Leeside Transition House (Port Hawkesbury, NS), where she gained experience in crisis intervention, supportive counselling, and social advocacy while working with vulnerable women and children who have/are experiencing domestic violence. Jen is passionate about topics such as social justice, developing networks of community resources and the act of resistance.  

Jen supports our Practicum Coordinator (Ryanne Chisholm) and our Program Manager (Dr. Chris Lively) cultivating practicum opportunities for AFP students and working with students to develop their practical and professional skillset. Jen has always been a strong advocate for the AFP program and is passionate about finding unique opportunities for AFP students and the invaluable hands-on experience it provides.
