Dr. Ryan E.R. Reid is an expert in the objective measurement of physical activity and sedentary behaviour, specialising in the use of wearable accelerometers (i.e. ActiGraph, ActivPal, Fitbit). Dr. Reid’s primary research goal is to incorporate physical activity monitors into primary health care in Nova Scotia. This research project leverages advancements in computer science to make health care more complete, accessible, and equitable. Dr. Reid has further expertise in the fields of body composition and nutrition, working in the contexts of elite sport (i.e. ice hockey and football) and several clinical populations (i.e. Bariatric surgery, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and arthritis).
