Research Interests:
The primary theme of my research is the mathematical modelling of complex systems. Conceptually simple models of complex systems can demonstrate the emergence of structures and dynamics which provide insight into the mesoscopic and macroscopic properties of a wide range of systems, for example, from ultrathin magnetic films to social systems. The current focus of this work is the emergence of glass-like states when system dynamics become very slow due to interaction of the emergent structures.
Areas of Research:
Cooperative phenomena and emergent behaviour in complex systems
